History of Pacific Seed Bank
PSB has multiple office locations with its headquarters being located in Amsterdam, an office in Canada, and also another headquarters location in beautiful Los Angeles, California. It’s very unusual to find a seed company located in the United States, but they have managed to pull it off. This is great news for those of you who live in the United States because it means quicker shipping times!
With more than 20 years of experience, Pacific Seed Bank claims to be one of the most experienced brands in the industry with extremely high-quality seeds. Along with this, one of the main selling points of PSB is that they feature over 150 strains and are constantly working to improve their selection.
They also have a nice little blog which does a pretty solid job of answering a bunch of different questions you might have during the buying and growing process. I’d definitely recommend taking a quick glance through there and you might find some posts that are intriguing and helpful to yourself.
Overall they say they want to be the go-to company for new growers, professional growers, and nurseries alike and they provide high-quality seeds to anyone who is in need of some seeds! Now let us get into the meat of our review and see how they stack up against some other brands in the industry!
Pacific Seed Bank Strain Selection (4.5/5.0):
Mentioned above is one of Pacific Seed Bank’s best advantages; their strain selection!
Featuring over 150 different strains gives you the options to browse until your eyes bleed! If you are looking for a specific strain then it’s a pretty good shot that PSB will have what you’re looking to order!
That being said, PSB only offers Feminized seeds and Autoflowering Seeds, they don’t offer any strains in Regular Seeds to order. For most people, this won’t be much of an issue, but if you are stuck on getting a strain in regular, then I’d suggest you check out Seedsman.
Along with this, Pacific does a solid job of categorizing their marijuana seeds by “THC Levels”, “Treatment For”, “Indica “, “Sativa“, “Plant Height”, and “Autoflowering” which is very helpful when you’re looking for very specific seeds or strains. Overall they offer a very large amount of strains and also does a great job of organizing their seeds and strains throughout their website and makes it very easy to be ordered!
Pacific Seed Bank Seed Quality (4.0/5.0):
Okay, so Pacific Seed Bank offers quite a few different strains, but what does that matter if their marijuana seeds aren’t high quality?
Thankfully you don’t have to worry too much about this. Overall their marijuana seeds are pretty high quality and they boast a 90% germination rate for all of their feminized seeds and autoflower seeds (if you follow their germination guide). So they will offer replacement seeds for free if you have less than a 90% germination rate (with a minimum of two seeds).
Along with this, Pacific Seed Bank does a good job of providing customer reviews for each individual strain on their website. This allows you to get a better idea of the seed quality, CBD amount, THC amount, ect. for each individual strain from verified buyers of the strains.
Overall they offer solid seeds, there have been a few complaints of seeds not germinating but if you follow their germination guide you’ll be eligible for replacement seeds. That being said, if you’re looking purely for the highest quality I’d suggest Seedsman or ILGM due to their overall quality.
Pacific Seed Bank Pricing (3.5/5.0):
One of the most important things to look at when buying marijuana seeds online is, of course, the price!
Seeds from Pacific Seed Bank seem to be on par with some other providers in the industry. You can get a 10 pack of seeds for around $99 for most strains. This seems to be close with other providers, and overall isn’t too shocking.
One downside of buying from this company is that they don’t seem to offer as many discounts or special offers as some other companies. For example, Seedsman and ILGM are constantly offering “Buy 10 Get 10 Free” offers which really goes a long way in saving money, and I hadn’t really seen that as often from this company. So if you’re looking to save some money on marijuana seeds, then I’d suggest taking a look at Seedsman or ILGM!
Along with this, it doesn’t seem that they publically offer a loyalty program or any program for returning visitors to save money after you’ve ordered. This is really a bummer because I’m definitely more inclined to come back after my first time order if they offer me some incentive, but I didn’t find anything on their website that mentioned a program like this to save money on your next order.
Pacific Seed Bank Shipping Policy (3.0/5.0):
Pacific offers to ship their marijuana seeds worldwide, though they say they can’t be held responsible for any breaches of laws or regulations in other countries! Unfortunately Pacific doesn’t offer free shipping to any country like ILGM (ILGM offers free shipping to USA, UK, and Australia & New Zealand). But, they do offer free shipping if your order is over $500.
Shipping costs $9.95 to USA, $30 to Australia and New Zealand, and $30 to Europe. So their shipping is definitely favorable for those who live in America which makes sense because they are one of the only American seed banks. On the plus side, seeds from Pacific Seed Bank are often delivered extremely quickly with USA shipments time taking only 5-7 days and include tracking codes (tracking codes are included for all countries).
If you don’t ask specifically, your seeds will be shipped in a medical-grade glass vial with an unbranded envelope or packaging to help ensure that your privacy is kept. Along with this all their packaging is padded and secured to ensure that no seeds are damaged in the delivery. You can rest easy that your seeds will be safe and sound once they reach you.
Furthermore, if you ask for discrete shipping after you’ve ordered then they have multiple options which will help to keep your seeds private and unopened. If you are worried that customs might take a look at your package then I would recommend opting for discrete shipping for your seeds. That being said, if you are worried about your seeds being snagged by customs I would again suggest ILGM because all you have to do is shoot them an email with proof that your seeds were confiscated and they’ll send you a new order!
Pacific Seed Bank Customer Service (2.5/5.0):
Unfortunately, one of the most common gripes with Pacific Seed Bank is that they don’t have the strongest customer service in the industry. I know for a fact that they are trying to improve their website and email support, but it still has a little bit of a way to go.
I’ve heard reports that if you email them with an issue with your order you’ll have to wait a few days time just to get an email back. Along with this, there’s been multiple reports of no confirmation being sent out with an order. This means if you make an order you can be left wondering if your order even went through, and this is after you sent your payment.
Furthermore, there’s been reports of people calling their support line and not getting an answer. I tested this out and was on hold for about 10 minutes before I hung up. That being said, I never had a problem with my order so I didn’t get to test this out further.
That being said, if your main concern when picking a bank is customer support then you can’t go wrong with ILGM. They are the best customer service for anyone looking for marijuana seeds, bar none. ILGM does a great job at answering support questions extremely quickly, and if you have any type of issue they will make sure that you get taken care of ASAP.
Website Usability:
One thing that they do a pretty solid job is the fact that their website is pretty easy to use. It allows you to filter all their strains by CBD amount, THC amount, Hybrid, Effects, ect. This gives you a really easy way to find exactly what you’re looking for, and also gives you the ability to discover new strains you wouldn’t have known about beforehand! So if you’re looking for a high CBD strain then you can just filter by CBD amount and find a great option for you just like that!
They do a good job of making the buying process pretty easy and similar enough to any other online transaction. There are some brands out there that make it very complicated to order, but thankfully they aren’t like this.
Frequently Asked Questions About Pacific Seed Bank:
Is Pacific Seed Bank Legit? / Is Pacific Seed Bank a Ripoff?:
I get this question quite often, and my simple answer is yes they are legit. If you are looking for marijuana seeds, then they sell seeds at a reasonable price and they have pretty good quality. Their main fault in the past has been their customer service, they have issues with responding to customers, answering questions, and also mixing up orders. Although this has been improved recently, they are still working to become better. But if you’re asking if they are legit, they are a legit marijuana seeds company that will provide you with seeds online through their website.
Final Thoughts:
Thank you for reading this Pacific Seed Bank review, overall I think this is a company that has a lot of potential, but has a few things to iron out first. They do a great job with their strain selection and their website makes the order process easy, but they are missing marks in terms of customer support and there are better shipping options available. Overall I’ll give them a 3.5/5.0 rating. They definitely can improve on their shipping policy which would make them much more appealing, and they also should put some big improvements into their customer service team. When I’m ordering from them I should feel like I can get an answer to my questions in a reasonable amount of time, and it will make me more likely to order from them again in the future. But when it takes days to hear back, then I’ll probably have ordered from someone else in the meantime.
Overall there are simply better options available in the marketplace. PSB is solid but you can save yourself a big amount of headache by going with a more reputable seed bank. If you are looking for my recommendations then I’d recommend you take a look at ILGM’s website and compare it to Seedsman. Both of these companies sell amazing seeds and they will provide you your delivery every time! These two brands are much more trusted and you won’t have to worry about any issues arising, and they are very competitive in prices, so you’ll probably save some money as well!
