10 Highest Yielding Indoor Strains – Compact Grows

When it comes to smoking cannabis flower, taste, aroma, and potency are at the top of most people’s lists, as far as important traits are concerned. When it comes to growing cannabis flower (especially on a large scale), all of those things are still important, but choosing a plant with a high yield will make your operation more efficient… and who doesn’t want to save some green while growing it?

Yield, by agricultural definition, is “the amount of crop harvested per area of land.” It is used to describe the output for many crops, including corn and most grains, and the majority of the cannabis industry also measures their ergonomic output by yield. Marijuana growers in the U.S. haven’t mutually agreed upon which “area of land” to use as reference in their yield equations yet, but some common ones are gram-per-square-foot, or ounce-per-square-yard. For this article, we will be using the latter as our reference (e.g., 24 oz/yd2).

In this article, we will be describing ten of the highest yielding indoor strains you can grow. If you’re looking strictly for the highest yielding autoflower strains then check out our guide!

What You’ll Need to Know Before Growing Indoors:

Another measurement comes into play when growing indoors, and that is electric bills. Make sure to use efficient lighting, and ensure your grow room is light-tight. This will not only keep the bills low, but changes in light can cause some plants to produce male flowers (the ones that don’t get you high).

Light-tight doesn’t mean air-tight, however, and your plants will need to get fresh air to reach their maximum yield potential. Temperature control is also a make-or-break factor, so ensure you’re able to keep your grow room at comfortable temperatures (~ 60-85OF depending on lighting and strain) throughout the entirety of the grow period.

With those steps in order, and the time needed to give the plants proper watering and nutrients, you’ll be ready to go, and poised to maximize the yield of your indoor marijuana grow.  Take a look below for our highest yielding strains indoors.

Top 10 Highest Yielding Indoor Strains:

So now that we’ve gotten all this covered, lets get down to our picks! Here’s our ten of the highest yielding indoor strains:

Growers should be prepared to protect against pests, as this strain has been found to be quite susceptible. Generally, an air-tight and light-tight indoor grow is plenty to protect from pests.

This strain is known for being potent in both effect and taste, and smokers will enjoy a citrus-forward flavor with earthy and herbal tones followed by a very focused and strong high that energizes for 2 to three hours. Similar in terms of flavor and effects to a classic strain like Northern Lights, this is a classic just like Northern Lights is!

  • THC – 16-22%

Just as the fruit that gives this strain its name, Blueberry buds are revered for their potent and unique flavors and aromas. Unlike the fruit, however, this strain is known to make users very stoned and couchlock strain. That being said, this strain is one of the highest yielding strains on our list due to its 18-25 oz per square yard!

Growers should plan on having a lot of space for each plant, as Blueberry plants tend to grow out as much as they do up, making them very fat and difficult to navigate if placed too closely together, especially being so high yield as it is. The color changes during the budding process are quite a sight, as well. These can still definitely be grown indoors if you have space/organization for it.

This is not a misnomer, as the aroma of the Blueberry buds is very fruity, with blueberry being the primary smell, but strawberry and citrus hints come through as well. The taste follows suit, and a deep exhale of this strain will have smokers thinking they just had some fresh berries.
