Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds Review – AMS

Introduction to Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds (AMS)

Based in (you guessed it) Amsterdam, AMS is a user-friendly online seed bank that ships to countries all across the globe. Their website is very modern and easy to use, and they offer many seasonal and yearly deals. Regular prices are pretty comparable to other sites, though quantity offerings are limited to 5, 10, or 20 seeds in most cases. Shipping, however, is always free! The descriptions of the strains are fantastic, keeping in line with the overall user-friendliness, and the large majority of consumer reviews are positive.

In addition to a wide array of strains popularized over time, AMS also has quite a few strains they created and the majority of those are well-received by the folks who gave them a try. They check the boxes in all categories we review, and in case you need to hear it one more time, it’s super easy to shop and order with Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds.

AMS History:

The folks at AMS have been doing business in the seed industry for more than 20 years, and “aim to be the best Dutch marijuana seed bank.” By many accounts, they have succeeded. They have always prided themselves on delivering seeds, as well as expertise, and in addition to a wide array of great products, they also offer a lot of tips for novice growers.

Before starting the seed bank, the minds that are now AMS were hard-working as geneticists, and of the 120+ strains offered from the bank, many are in-house creations.

AMS Reputation:

The general vibe of the website is happy and “we’re here for you,” and this reflects the reputation they have amongst customers who have reviewed their services and products online. Their customer service email sheet states that if you don’t hear back from them in 24 hours to check your junk mail, as they take their concerns and complaints very seriously and make responding to them quickly one of their top priorities.

According to Trustpilot.com, more than 62% of reviews received the highest grade of “excellent,” and may reviewers couldn’t stop shedding praise regarding customer service and growability of the seeds. Novice growers commented frequently about how high of germination rate they see, even without being very good at the craft of growing.

Here is a screenshot of the Trustpilot website, as well as a few recent reviews:

Another reputation builder for AMS is that they seem to always make due on their germination promises, as many reviews mention quick, apologetic replacements when seeds didn’t arrive or germinate.

AMS Seed Selection (4.5/5.0):

Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds has a huge inventory, and a very easy-to-use system of shopping around so you don’t have to look at all 120 strains if you don’t want to.

Some strains fall into multiple categories, but to make for easy shopping they have a bunch… and they are:

  • Indoor
  • Outdoor
  • Indica
  • Sativa
  • Hybrid
  • Feminized
  • Regular
  • White
  • CBD
  • Cheap Seeds
  • Combo Packages
  • Medical
  • Premium

Most of those are pretty self-explanatory, but to squelch your thirst for knowledge regarding the premium category, some top sellers there are 420 Carat, Amnesia Trance, Green Crack, Kryponite, and The Light of Jah.

The descriptions for each strain are far from vague, as every one has a few full pages of detailed information following a nice chart that includes THC levels, ideal climates, indoor yields and outdoor yields and heights, flowering time, and grow difficulty.

One slight knock, especially in contrast to the amount of strain offerings, is that most seeds can only be purchased in 5, 10, or 20 seed quantities.

AMS Seed Quality (4.5/5.0):

Given the vastness of seed varieties, AMS needs to be quite confident in their seeds, and they are for good reason. Based on the multitude of reviews mentioned above, the germination rate for AMS seeds is very high across all types, including autoflowering seeds and even their “cheap seeds.” As an added bonus, they offer replacements for the rare cases where the seeds don’tgerminate or arrive, and even a small but relevant share of the five-star reviews on Trustpilot mention a shortcoming regarding germination but also mention high levels of satisfaction with the speediness and ease of replacement.

Good, quality seeds that are also guaranteed are as good as it gets in the seed bank business!

AMS Customer Service (4.5/5.0):

Going back to their guarantee, to start, it’s very apparent across all internet accounts that AMS acts quickly when faced with a customer issue. They have call line, and an email support system that promises a response within 24 hours. Even the few negative reviews about AMS did not include anything about failed response times regarding customer concerns.

The website is very easy to navigate, and the multiple search categories make shopping time minimal so you can get your order in and get ready to grow. The descriptions for both the requirements to maximize growth, and the effects of the seeds themselves add additional levels to a company that is very much geared toward making their customers happy.

AMS also has four sections of their website dedicated to your growing needs and questions (as in questions about growing…) Their grow guide is free, online-based, and extremely in-depth with 15 chapters on everything you need to know about making your plants grow. They also have a shorter article on germination, a seed table that lists price, THC levels, and yields of all their strains in one place, and a really cool grow map that shows what climates are best for indicas or sativas when grown outdoors.

Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds Shipping (5.0/5.0):

Sometimes the phrase “free shipping” can be a bit misleading, as many companies will say it and then just jack up the prices of their products. Not the case with AMS, as the next section shows that prices are very comparable. So, with that, it’s hard to argue the awesomeness of free worldwide shipping (similar to ILoveGrowingMarijuana).

AMS does not ship to countries with strict cannabis restrictions, but their shipments to the U.S. and Canada can be expected in about 2 weeks’ time, and all customers get tracking numbers, regardless of the size of their shipment. And, as mentioned, that tracking comes at no extra charge… some banks have “free” baseline shipping, but require payment if you’d like your order tracked.

In addition to the freeness and the tracking, they also provide crushproof containers for their products, and unmarked envelopes to ensure discretionary practices are met no matter where you may be getting your seeds delivered.

Though most shipments do, indeed, arrive in 2 weeks, the company asks that you wait 3 weeks until reaching out to them. A few reviews online did state that shipping times had eclipsed the three week mark, but those reviews also stated that AMS was very quick to figure out what the issue was, and if it was deemed the seeds were lost or returned, an identical shipment was expedited at no cost. In cases where shipments were confiscated by customs, they also take the blame for failed discretion and send another batch ASAP.

One note regarding the 3-week mark is that they also do NOT deal with lost shipments if customers wait more than 60 days to inform them, so be sure to act fairly quickly if you don’t see your package after the 3-week mark.

AmsterdamMarijuanaSeeds.com Pricing (4.0/5.0):

Pricing is certainly comparable to similar seed banks that ship to the same locales, with most feminized seeds coming in at around $60 for 5 and a shade under $200 for 20. Regular seeds’ prices vary a bit more, but $45 dollars for five is pretty close to the median, and $140 for 20 is as well. They do also offer a “cheap seeds” section for budget folks or skeptical beginners, and a lot of those seeds come solely in packs of 10 for about $40. The quantity options are few, and most seeds are only offered in 5, 10, or 20 packs, but across the map, prices are pretty decent.

They also offer combination packs that come with a bit of a discount and include a few different strains… check out the “most wanted” pack to get a 10 seed variety of whatever seeds are currently the most popular with buyers.

Did we mention that shipping is always free, no matter the order size!? Cheers AMS.

AMS Promotions and Discounts (3.0/5.0):

In addition to the combination packs and “cheap seeds” mentioned above, the banner that graces the top of the website shows customers seasonal deals. The one occurring at the time of this writing is a buy ten, get ten promotion for Mother’s Day so you can send Mom your free seeds and tell her you bought them as a gift. Other than that, though, promotions and discounts aren’t nearly as plentiful as the amount of strains offered by AMS.

Final Thoughts on AmsterdamMarijuanaSeeds.com (AMS)

Seed quality, seed selection, shipping speed, and pricing are all good enough reasons to check out AMS, but their big selling points are the free shipping, the ease of shopping, and the customer service. At the end of the day, a lot of seeds are pretty similar, but having a trusted name sending them your way who you know you can trust to get you the right stuff (or fix it quickly if they don’t) is what sets apart a great seed bank from a good one. By all accounts, AMS is a great seed bank, for sure. Given their robust online resources for growing that include grow maps, side by side comparisons of strains, and a 15-chapter guide on maximizing growth, it’s very evident that AMS cares about a lot more than the seeds they send out. They want their customers to know everything about what they purchase before they purchase it, and they want to make sure every seed they send turns into a big ol’ plant that will bring said customers joy, and also bring them back for more great seeds.
